This Georgian ruby and emerald mandolin locket brooch / pendant is a unique piece from the 1830s. The yellow, rose, and green pendant is shaped like a mandolin, decorated with engraved floral motifs and set with nine unheated rubies and nine untreated emeralds. The reverse side features a hinged latch that opens to reveal an oval glass compartment. This antique piece also doubles as a brooch thanks to its secure hinged pin and scroll latch. It's suspended from a double belcher chain on a circular ribbed bale for versatile wearability and measures approximately 5.5 x 5 cm with the chain.
